The Feast of Saint Efisio is the most important religious procession of Cagliari. It is held every year on May 1, continuously since 1657. On this feast, like that of Saint Simplicius at Olbia, the feast of the Redeemer in Nuoro, Sant'Antioco Sant'Antioco and the Cavalcata sarda in Sassari, are involved with their own traditional dress clothes groups from all over Sardinia. Besides being one of the oldest is also the longest Italian religious procession, with approximately 65 km hiking trails in 4 days, and the largest in the Mediterranean.
